A quiet corner in the countryside
Book your stay in a family home at the heart of the countryside, surrounded by nature and calm.

Anne-Hélène and Eric, we are recently retired. Former restaurant owners, we love hosting and wanted to keep doing so — that's why we restored an old stone house where we're delighted to welcome you, whether for a simple stay or to share our table d'hôte. Hikers, mountain bikers or motorcyclists — we're happy to share the many walking trails of our Périgord Vert.

La Maison de Jeanne is an old building restored with taste and great care — some elements date back to the 15th century. The house nestles in a small village (Mayac) in the Périgord Vert, the green and natural side of the Périgord. Close to Périgueux with its St Front cathedral and old town. Close to Brantôme, the Green Venice of the Périgord, and to many caves and châteaux. La Maison de Jeanne is a charming gîte, spacious and comfortable, that can host up to 5 people. It sits at the far end of the garden, facing the pool. It is a self-contained, air-conditioned unit. You'll have a fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, television, wifi — everything you need for a pleasant stay). On the first floor is the large, bright master bedroom with a 160cm bed, a big wardrobe, a reading corner and the bathroom. On the second floor, the second attic bedroom has two 80cm beds, an extra 80cm bed, and two baby cots. The terrace is shaded by wisteria and equipped with a barbecue. The garden and the pool are enclosed and childproofed.

La Maison de Jeanne is a family-friendly gîte — we thought of your children too. There's a play area in the garden with two swings, a slide and a cabin in the shade of a large lime tree, just for them. The cabin has a little kitchen, cushions, children's chairs, a scooter and a small tractor. The pool is secured with a fence and a gate. It also has shallow steps that even babies enjoy. After a swim or some playtime, treat yourself to the reading corner, where you'll find books for children. If our guests' comments are anything to go by, it's said to be a little paradise for children.

Over time, the Périgord has become something of a rediscovered paradise. Our table d'hôte is the joy of sharing the recipes and treasures found in Périgord's nature. Depending on the season, the table is generous, with duck foie gras, truffle-butter toasts, confit, duck breast, strawberry or walnut tart... Guests leave with a taste for flavours, memories, and a few recipe secrets.
A four-shade mosaic, heritage like no other
Black, White, Green or Purple: the Périgord reveals itself in four shades, each with its own character and treasures. An invitation to explore a land of a thousand facets, between nature, history and gastronomy.

The white colour comes from the white limestone plateaus, its soils and rock. The heritage of the city of Périgueux is rich, with its museum of art and archaeology of the Périgord, the Gallo-Roman era at the Vesunna museum, and the Renaissance, whose period architecture lines the city's many streets — not forgetting St Front Cathedral. White Périgord is also home to the Château de Hautefort, the magnificent and richly stocked museum of medicine, the town of Sorges and its Truffle Museum — the diamond of the Périgord. On the edge of the Green Périgord lies the Tourtoirac cave.

Black Périgord takes its name from its many dark green oak forests. It counts no fewer than 9 listed villages: Sarlat-la-Canéda, La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Belvès, Domme... The Vézère valley treats us to prehistoric sites, the most iconic being the Lascaux IV cave in Montignac, not forgetting the Grand Roc and Le Thot caves... A fascinating dive into the history of humankind!

Purple Périgord owes its name to its vineyards and autumn landscapes. This region is home to picturesque, historic villages such as Bergerac, Monbazillac and Issigeac, with a rich architectural and cultural heritage. Famous for its vineyards, it produces quality wines, notably Bergerac and Monbazillac. Major historic sites include the Château de Monbazillac and the old streets of Bergerac, which look as if they stepped straight out of a history book.

Green Périgord is scattered with meadows, forests and greenery. Brantôme, the green Venice, with its magnificent Benedictine abbey. Jumilhac-le-Grand and its splendid château. Saint-Pardoux-de-Mareuil and its medieval caves, the picturesque charm of Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a very beautiful medieval village, the market town of Excideuil and its superb château. Bourdeilles, a charming village on the banks of the Dronne. The Villars cave with its original prehistoric paintings, the magnificent old forge of Savignac-Lédrier, and the Vaux paper mill. Green Périgord has a great many hiking trails.
